In mid-July I’m going load up and set off on my BMW R1200GS into Europe. I’ll spend a month riding around Scandinavia then head down through the Baltic States toward Istanbul and turn east, to cross the Caspian Sea and ride through the desert and trails of Kazakhstan to the Charyn Canyon after 9,000 miles. I’ll continue on down through Kyrgyzstan, the mountains of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, to cross back over the Caspian Sea and find my way up the Adriatic Coast to return home for the end of the year.
